Welcome to the Dev Learnings Team — Meet Ankit Thapliyal!
Hey DevLearners — I’m excited today to share something a bit different and special. As you know, this newsletter has always been focused on deep technical thinking, real-world developer lessons, and meaningful growth. Today, we’re not talking about an algorithm or a design pattern — instead, we’re introducing someone who’s going to add a new layer of depth and expertise to this community.
Please join me in welcoming Ankit Thapliyal to the Dev Learnings team! 🎉
Ankit comes to us with a rich background in gaming technology and backend engineering — areas that many developers are curious about but few get deep exposure to. Ankit is an experienced Senior Backend Programmer with expertise in designing highly scalable and efficient solutions for games as well as web applications.
What makes Ankit’s journey particularly exciting for our community is his passion for the gaming domain — something that doesn’t always get enough love in traditional tech circles. Gaming isn’t just “fun and games” (pun intended); it’s a fascinating intersection of performance engineering, real-time systems, network optimisation, server scalability, and user experience design. Those of us who’ve played even a few hours of modern titles know that behind every smooth frame, there’s a mountain of engineering decisions. Ankit brings that real-world experience to the table — the kind of experience that helps us bridge the gap between academic concepts and performance-oriented engineering.
What stood out to me (and what I think you’ll appreciate) is Ankit’s infectious curiosity and intent to create impact. He’s the kind of engineer who doesn’t stop at “it works”; he pushes to understand why it works, and how it can be made better. That’s exactly the mindset we celebrate here at Dev Learnings — where understanding the underlying principles matters just as much as writing the code itself.
You’ll see Ankit contributing in several ways:
- 🛠 In-depth articles on backend architectures in performance-critical domains
- 🔍 Insights into game server engineering and real-time systems
- 🎙 Interviews and discussion posts breaking down complex concepts
- 🧠 Practical lessons from real industry problems
I’m genuinely excited about the perspective Ankit brings — especially for those of you who are interested in game dev, distributed systems, high performance engineering, or even just polishing your backend skills with real-life examples.
So here’s a warm welcome to Ankit — we’re glad you’re here, and so are we ready to learn from you! 🙌
Stay tuned — great content incoming.
